Introducing KALLER®
Discover the history behind KALLER®, the global leader in Gas Springs and Gas Hydraulic Systems. Founded in 1876 in Sweden, KALLER has grown steadily over the years, backed by the strength of Barnes (NYSE:B). Learn more about our journey from scythe manufacturing to today's advanced technology.
KALLER® is the leading brand for Gas Springs and Gas Hydraulic Systems globally. Our Gas Springs are primarily used in stamping dies or for counterbalance needs, whereas our Gas Hydraulic Suspension Systems are commonly found in heavy-duty off-road vehicles.
Since 1983 we have developed and refined Gas Spring technology, but our history expands farther back — to 1876.
Brief History of KALLER
Founded by blacksmith Anders Magnus Carlsson, KALLER first manufactured scythes in large quantities near Skoboviken outside of Tranås, Sweden, where we are headquartered today.
KALLER started with 10 employees and has grown steadily over the years. At first, we were a mechanical workshop, the first in the area with a steam engine, circular saw, and steam boilers. Our work consisted of pipework for locomotives and part production for sawmills.
Barnes Backing
Locally, KALLER is known as Barnes Strömsholmen, as the strength of Barnes backs us (NYSE: B). Barnes is headquartered in the United States but maintains a global presence with a long history in industrial markets.
