KALLER - The Safer Choice History

KALLER has a long history of developing innovative and industry impactful products, here is the story of how the company started how it came to be an industry leader.

KALLER’s history dates to 1876 with the black smith Anders Magnus Carlsson in Tranås, Sweden. As the company progressed and grew, a variety of products were developed and serviced- ranging from scythes to mechanical tools and machines. The original company name Tranåslien, was eventually changed to Strömsholmens Mekaniska Verkstad.

When it comes to gas springs for press tools, KALLER is not just a name – it's the original.

In 1974, Sigurd Kaller came to Strömsholmen with a gas spring invention designed for plows. After it was displayed at an agricultural exhibition in 1978, a major Swedish automotive manufacturer inquired if it could be utilized in press tools. It was then further developed and later approved in the manufacturer’s standard.
